Another Embroidered House Ta Dah....

I do keep meaning to do a 2012 in review type post but haven't got around to it in the meantime I thought I would ta dah one of my embroidered houses.

Just before Christmas I had the pleasure of working on a lovely cottage that has become my favourite so far of my embroidered houses.

It was to be a gift for the customers friend and when I saw the picture of the house I knew it would be a lovely one to do:

First of all I did a sketch to pick out the details that would need to be included:

And then I settled myself in my sewing room surround by scraps of fabric to free motion machine embroidery the house itself.

After I spent a few hours doing that it was time for my favourite part, adding the details by hand:

Until I was finally happy with it:

And it was time to pop it in a simple frame:

I'm really pleased with how this pretty cottage turned out and even more thrilled to hear that the recipient was delighted with it.

The fun part in doing these I find are the "fantasy" touches such as hand embroidered flowers, roses round the door, window-boxes and bunting - my chance to use some artistic licence!!

I am taking orders for these, if you would like one they cost £52 framed and including p&p. I require a 50% deposit and balance upon completion. Please email me at spending-all-his-money@ntlworld.com for more info.

Hugs,

S x
